Monpazier
Monpazier, founded in 1284 by the King of England, King Edward I, is seen as the model-bastide (fortified village) among the 300 founded bastides in the Southwest of France. Bastides have been built almost always to a steady concept, as is Monpazier: a village-green surrounded by arcades and the typical rectilinear street plan. The village-square is also surrounded by houses dating between the Middle Ages and the 18th century. In this mediaeval village, which managed to remain in excellent condition in spite of the 100-years War and the many religious wars, you will certainly discover some of the premises overwhelming with history, which are at the same time classified as monuments. The village is calssified as on of the "plus beaux villages de France" .

Chateau de Biron (you could even walk to the château. The walk is about 18 km. In the village Biron, right next to the château is a restaurant we suggest: l'Auberge du château de Biron.

Activities
Canoeing :If you like canoeing you have to try a leisurely ride on the Dordogne river. We advise you to do a tour of 14 km, which takes you along castles and the village Roque-gageac & Beynac. You can book this with Canoe Roquegeoffre. Do not hesitate to ask us for more details.
Golf: We have established partnerships with several golf courses in the area (Golfclub Lolivarie, Golf La Marterie, Villeneuve sur Lot Golf & Country Club). They are located within 35 minutes of our hotel.
The courses vary in setting and lay-out. We will be happy to advise you in your choice, given your personal preferences. We will reserve your tee-time and, of course, we will give you the directions on how to get there.
Cycling: Would you like to discover the area in a different way? We have several high-quality bicycles for rent. Enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Monpazier with a difference. We also have 2 Pedal electric cycles (power assisted). ! Could you let us know in advance, if you would like to rent one of our bicycles?
